Concerned Citizens About Industrial Wind Turbine Projects

Hi all. I own property under the existing wind turbines in Searsburg. They are noisy and obtrusive. They are proposing 17 larger ones that would come equipped with aircraft beacons. When they (the developers and the power company) say no one in the area objects to them, they are lying.

In addition to the eyesores above my property, I have also observed the now defunct monstrosities on the big island of Hawaii. They were just as bad and now are rusting in place, a fate I can only hope does not come for the industrial site across from me.

To understand what an intrusion these things are in Searsburg, consider that the town is #250 out of 255 in the state of Vermont for population, with less than 100 residents. It is extremely rugged terrain and weather. The people who choose to live here do so because it is so isolated. The stars at night here are truly spectacular and in the winter the wilky way is so dense that it is hard to pick out the constellations among the star field.

The existing industrial generating station has severely detracted from the quality of both my house and my mother's house (the closest one to the existing turbines). The proposed expansion will destroy the remote nature of the area.

I fear it is too late to avoid having these machines destroy both your area and ours. I hope I am wrong about this.

Iberdrola needs to walk away from the Energy East acquisition

The courageous ruling by the PSC administrative law judge to reject approval of the Iberdrola acquisition of Energy East is getting intense criticism by all the usual suspects. On the face of all the hullaballoo coming from self-indulgent beholding politicians, covetous transnational corporations and their business interest crony groups, the public should savor the moment. Who protects the energy consumer and the hard-pressed taxpayer? Well, we have an answer and his name is Rafael Epstein!

STATE OF NEW YORK
OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
ANDREW M. CUOMO

The Honorable Attorney General Andrew Cuomo,

As you are aware from the Cohocton Wind Watch letter of September 26, 2007, (copy enclosed) that our organization urges New York State to prosecute the numerous industrial wind developers for criminal conduct. It is crucial that the ordinary citizens are able to petition their government to enforce laws that must be obeyed. The recent investigations by District Attorney… Continue

RE: S. 2821, the Clean Energy Stimulus Act April 9, 2008

Dear Senator,

Citizen Power Alliance strongly opposes the inclusion of industrial wind subsidy in this bill. Extension of the investment tax credit (ITC) and providing incentives for an inefficient technology will only cause a further tax burden on the public. The following points are comp… Continue
